I am so fortunate to have worked at some truly fantastic wedding venues and quite a few of those are in the beautiful county of Berkshire. Below I write about these venues and share some of my favourite wedding photos from them. If you are on the hunt for a perfect venue for your wedding in Berkshire, you have come to the right place.
If you are wine lover, looking for barn wedding venue and love a stunning location then Stanlake Park is ideal for you. Situated in Twyford, Berkshire the venue is lovely and private and offers exclusive use for your big day.
Wedding ceremonies are held in The Coach House which is a gorgeous small barn with glass doors all down one side, filling the room with beautiful natural light. There is also the option to have your wedding ceremony outside in the courtyard which is another pretty spot which is also used for the drink’s reception.
A new addition in 2020 to this section of Stanlake Park is The Bow Loft which is an area for the bride and her bridal party to get ready the morning of the wedding.
There are some fantastic spots for your wedding photos around the grounds. The Walled Garden is a favourite of mine with the pretty vines and red brick walls. There is also The Vineyard Barn Lawn which has sprawling rows of vines at the back of it, and right next to The Vineyard Barn which is where the wedding breakfast and evening party is held.
The Vineyard Barn is so beautifully rustic with its wooden beams and tons of character. There are some parts to the barn divided up by beams, so the seating area and dance floor are separated, which works really well so the tables can be kept in place for the evening party.
In early 2020 some renovations are being made to this part of Stanlake Park, adding in glass doors and a new patio area next to the barn. I am excited to see them completed.
Here are some photos of Stanlake Park and its beautiful locations.
The Mill House Hotel is a beautiful venue in Swallowfield, just outside Reading in Berkshire. It is a family run hotel and caters perfectly for intimate and more personal weddings.
There are a couple of options for your ceremony. Inside the main house has two licenced rooms (The Garden Room being a favourite of mine) and you can also get married in the marquee or have an outdoor ceremony in the pretty gardens.
The marquee at the rear of the gardens is fantastic for the wedding breakfast and evening party. The patio doors can be opened on warm days and it is such a great space to be decorated to your own style on your wedding day.
The gardens are also a favourite part for me at The Mill House. They are looked after so well and always look fantastic on a wedding day. They are perfect for group photos as well as bride and groom photos and I love the Cedar Pavilion which looks amazing at night and I love doing a creative night-time photo in there.
I have been fortunate to photograph a number of weddings at The Mill House in all seasons and it’s an ideal venue at any time of year. Some venues struggle with locations for winter weddings and bad weather, but not The Mill House.
Here are some favourite photos from the weddings I have shot at this superb venue.
Lillibrooke Manor is another venue where I have been fortunate to photograph a number of weddings and it quickly became a favourite of mine.
Located in Cox Green in Maidenhead, Berkshire the venue takes your breath away as you drive up the tree lined driveway, surrounded by green fields.
The exclusive use is extra special for your privacy and The Cottage Room allows the bride and her bridesmaids to get ready there on the morning of the wedding. Your ceremony can take place in The Small Barn, The Great Barn or an outside option of the Cloister Garden in nice weather.
The Small Barn is so pretty and has amazing light from the windows at the end of the room. Then just outside is the Cloister Garden which is so pretty and quintessentially English with the pretty flowerbeds and fountain in the centre. A lot of couples choose to have their drinks reception in this area as well.
When it comes to locations for you wedding photos, with Lillibrooke Manor you are spoilt for choice. The surrounding gardens, courtyard and driveway are so pretty, and I always love photographing weddings at this beautiful venue.
The Great Barn is such a lovely large space with the bar at one end, and space for the dance floor at the other end. Which means there is no need for the tables to be moved away after your wedding breakfast.
Please take a look below at some of the beautiful locations at Lillibrooke Manor.
The Olde Bell is located in the beautiful village of Hurley in Berkshire, not far from Henley. It is a traditional coaching inn and its tithe barn is full of rustic beauty.
The Olde Bell is unique in the fact that the buildings are separated by a small road leading through the village. There is an option to have your wedding the coaching inn side of the venue for smaller weddings, or the title barn side. I have photographed all my weddings at The Olde Bell in the Tithe Barn which is really pretty.
For your wedding photographs the gardens on the other side of the road behind the inn are fantastic, with lovely lawns, woodland and brick arches and doorways.
At night-time the outside of the tithe barn is lit up with fairy lights which looks so pretty and is a great spot for a night-time photo of the bride and groom.
Here are some of my favourite photos from weddings I have photographed at The Olde Bell.
Ufton Court is a really fantastic venue with a lot of history, located in Ufton Nervet, Berkshire. This venue is special for a lot of reasons, one being that 100% of the profits from weddings held here go back to Ufton Court children’s charity.
The two main building are the Manor House and the Tithe Barn. Both of which are options to have your wedding ceremony. The Tithe Barn is my personal favourite as I love barn weddings and this barn is extremely spacious and the white walls and timber beams above are beautiful.
The grounds and gardens all around Ufton Court are stunning, I am spoilt for choice when photographing a wedding here for beautiful spots. The lawns at the back of the manor house are gorgeous with all the greenery and red brick walls. The manor itself is a great backdrop for group photos, showing off the grandeur of the venue.
The patio area and lawns outside the Tithe Barn are great for your confetti throw, drinks reception as well as in the evening, if guests want to enjoy some fresh air on warm summer evenings.
For your evening party the Tithe Barn has a huge amount of space for dancing as well as plenty of tables if guests prefer to sit. The flame torches being lit outside on the path is another lovely touch and it looks so pretty in the dark.
Here is a little look at some wedding photos from Ufton Court.
Park View Farm is in Wokingham, Berkshire and it is a little different to the other wedding venues I have written about in this blog. The reason it is different is because you basically hire the land which is part of a huge farm, and that is it, you do the rest. This may put some people off, but if you want to design and create your own unique wedding, this is the perfect location for it.
The land you hire has the most beautiful little lake and rustic hut on the side of it and surrounded by trees, it is so magical.
The wedding I photographed at Park View Farm was nothing short of spectacular and the couple hired a beautiful tipi to sit next to the lake. They also needed to hire everything else like someone to run electricity, toilets, caterers, the bar and do all the decorating and beautiful touches themselves. But boy was it worth it.
As a wedding photographer this location was a dream for me and I had so many options for photo locations, I was in my element.
As the sun went down the fire pit was lit, and guests gathered around it as they were treated to a spectacular fireworks display.
Here are some photos from this magical tipi wedding by the lake at Park View Farm.
Stokes Farm Barn is a hidden gem of a wedding venue. Located in Wokingham, Berkshire it is set next to a working farm and is run by the same family who run the farm. The Victorian timber barn has so much rustic character and the patio area and lawns outside are stunning.
There is a pond just next to the drive as you approach the barn and it is quite common to see ducks and swans waddling across the lawns. I also saw a few fish jumping out of the pond with a big splash back into the water!
The main barn is the area where wedding ceremonies are held, and it is so pretty. The balcony above is a great spot for a photo during your ceremony, and I was lucky enough to have confetti cannons released in the barn when I was photographing a wedding ceremony.
The wedding breakfast takes place in another room next to the barn, which has large glass doors facing onto the patio. Then it is back into the barn for the evening party. Having the extra side room which is a little quieter is a nice option for the evening, if some guests prefer to stay away from the loud music. The bar is upstairs where the balcony is in the main barn, so watch the steps after a few drinks.
Please see a few photos below at this pretty venue, Stokes Farm Barn.
